In the spring there are many white birds on ponds and lakes west of Calgary. I always think they are snow geese. This year I stopped at Sibbald Flats and drove back along the dirt road. These two were swimming together in one of the ponds. I loved how they moved in unison. So romantic. Turns out they are trumpeter swans, not snow geese. Glad I got close enough to see their black beaks.
