Every fall robins seek out mountain ash berries. This is apparently a good source of energy as temperatures drop and food sources (like bugs) become scarce. Some robins may be feeding for the long flight south, but others will winter here, especially if the berry crop is good. Photographing this berry feast was very enjoyable, as there is a large mountain ash grove in a park near my house. I was able to take my time and enjoy their activity. The colours also turned out to be perfect for Christmas.
